For a few years now I have become increasingly untethered from the traditional Christian faith (church, small groups, bible studies, self-improvement) without any proper vocabulary or rationale behind it, just a leading. A still small voice I had come to know, so I trusted it. But I did not know where it was taking me (and my family, this family I am entrusted with and was increasingly anxious to not fuck up).

I don’t know a word better than relief to explain how I feel reading Neville’s words. I had become content enough to meander alone but I cannot describe the burning relief I feel to not only see a path with shared language now but to find others walking it. It is such a gift. And I will not try to flatter you and Melissa about your fantastic class on the surface level but I deeply sense the unavoidable obedience and joy you get to have in sharing Neville’s work, Christ’s work, with others. Your offering is me pushed out, my longing for proper relationship to God. I am you pushed out, another joyful and hungry to learn the same and aid in your making a living. What a life.

There is nothing to change but self. I became undeniably skeptical that my inner world couldn’t affect the outer “real” world before I joined. This summarizes my experience in the background of the Imagination School timeline. Participating in Imagination School has been the most loving, nourishing and positive thing I have ever done for myself. After struggling with low energy for 3 years, I started experiencing increasing energy spikes in the first few weeks of Imagination School which, by week 8, culminated in the feeling of omnipotence while going hard all day at work and then continuing in the same mode for hours at home. Imagination School has changed my life, and I look forward to it continuing to. I was raised in a charismatic Christian home with speaking in tongues and holy laughter. There was so much fear, control, shame, and guilt that I had and didn't recognize until adulthood. I had such debilitating stomach pains as a child that for many years I thought it was food. Thankfully, after finding GNM, I no longer have the stomach pains. After losing my brother to suicide in 2020, it made me question so many things, especially around religion. Imagination School was such a wonderful and beautiful experience—honestly, a bit hard to describe. Over the 9 weeks, I found myself softening, opening, and seeing things differently, almost like I’d taken a gentle psychedelic without any substances involved.

Imagination school has been such a fun, expansive and eye-opening 9 weeks. A lot has shifted in my life since we started and I feel like I wasn’t even really trying. I finally moved out of my parent’s house and had a conversation with them that I had been dreading for almost a year. And I didn’t even plan to have it before it happened.
